Radical cystectomy (RC) is the standard treatment for optimal survival and oncological outcomes for patients with invasive bladder cancer requiring definitive treatment. The use of robot assisted radical cystectomy (RARC) for bladder cancer has increased significantly in recent years. Our institution is a high-volume cystectomy center with surgeons that perform both RARC and open radical cystectomy (ORC). The surgeons utilize their respective approaches without patient selection. We have extensively used the robotic approach for cystectomy since its development in the management of high-grade bladder cancer.
