In this study,1 we first identified a set of 4 genes (TMPRSS11E, SCEL, KRT78, TMEM185A) that were significantly associated with poor overall survival of bladder cancer patients, some of which have not been investigated in urinary bladder cancer before. Compared with previous studies related to disease diagnosis only, our study focused on direct overall survival prediction of urinary bladder cancer patients, which were poorly reported before. What is more, Cox regression analysis together with a permutation test and stratification analysis were performed to explore the relationship of gene expression and overall survival of bladder cancer.
