Management of the Distal Ureter During Nephroureterectomy for Upper Tract Urothelial Carcinoma: A Comprehensive Review of Literature.

Radical open nephroureterectomy (ONU) with bladder cuff excision (BCE) is the traditional gold standard approach for management of high-risk non-metastatic upper tract urothelial cancer. ONU involves two separate procedures; the nephrectomy and distal ureterectomy, with each of these parts being able to be performed with an open or minimally-invasive approach.

Utility of Stromal Tumor Infiltrating Lymphocyte Scoring (sTILs) for Risk Stratification of Patients with Muscle-Invasive Urothelial Bladder Cancer After Radical Cystectomy – Beyond the Abstract

It is profound that despite years of intensive therapeutic efforts, 50-60% of patients with muscle-invasive urothelial bladder cancer will have a local or distant disease recurrence within 5 years with limited further therapy options. The primary research goal of our translational working group is to promote personalized therapy for patients with muscle-invasive bladder cancer patients […]

Radiosensitisation of Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Penis in Men Who Are Positive for Human Papillomavirus Infection

Human papillomavirus (HPV) is associated with up to 4.5% of all cancer cases and is a significant healthcare burden, with 600 000 cases per annum. HPV vaccination has been introduced globally to mitigate this public health risk. Prophylactic vaccines against high-risk (HPV-16 and HPV-18) and low-risk (HPV-6 and HPV-11) HPV subtypes have revolutionised the field. […]

Concomitant robot-assisted laparoscopic surgeries for upper and lower urinary tract malignancies: a comprehensive literature review.

Worldwide, we have witnessed an expansion of robot-assisted laparoscopic surgery (RALS) and thanks to the global adoption of high-resolution diagnostic imaging technologies, an increased incidence of newly diagnosed prostatic, renal and bladder cancers has been recorded with concurrent second primary urological cancer diagnoses increasing by 1.
