A Randomized Controlled Trial of Goal-Focused Emotion-Regulation Therapy for Young Adult Survivors of Testicular Cancer: Effects on Salivary and Inflammatory Stress Markers.

Despite the substantial adverse psychological impact of testicular cancer, few interventions have sought to improve psychosocial functioning and stress-related biomarkers in young adult survivors. Goal-focused Emotion-regulation Therapy (GET) is designed to improve distress symptoms, emotion regulation, and goal navigation skills, which would be expected to improve regulation of stress-sensitive biomarkers.

Laparoscopic Cystectomy with Totally Intracorporeal Versus Extracorporeal Orthotopic Neobladder for Bladder Cancer: A Single Center Experience.

Objective: The objective of this study was to compare the perioperative, oncological, and functional results and complications of extracorporeal orthotopic neobladder (EON) and totally intracorporeal orthotopic neobladder (ION) after laparoscopic radical cystectomy (LRC) in patients with muscle-invasive bladder cancer and high-risk nonmuscle-invasive bladder cancer.

Pan-Cancer Analysis of PARP1 Alterations as Biomarkers in the Prediction of Immunotherapeutic Effects and the Association of Its Expression Levels and Immunotherapy Signatures.

Poly (ADP-ribose) polymerases-1 (PARP1) alterations are associated with PARP1 inhibitor resistance, regulating the function of Treg cells and PDL1 expression in tumor cells, and high PARP1 expression is significantly associated with aggressive behavior and chemotherapeutic resistance in several tumors.

The effects of exercise on the bone health of people with cancer: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

To determine the pooled effect of exercise on the bone health of people diagnosed with cancer. Four electronic databases were systematically searched. Controlled trials that assessed the effect of exercise on the bone mineral density (BMD) or content (BMC) measured by dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry or peripheral quantitative computed tomography in people who had been diagnosed […]

Association between pathogenic germline mutations in BRCA2 and ATM and tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes in primary prostate cancer.

Pathogenic mutations in homologous recombination (HR) DNA repair genes may be associated with increased tumor mutational burden and numbers of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL). Though HR-deficient prostate tumors have been anecdotally associated with improved responses to immunotherapy, it is unclear whether HR mutations or HR deficiency (HRD) scores predict for increased T-cell densities in this cancer.

Final Nail in the Coffin.

Synthetic midurethral slings (MUS) for the management of stress urinary incontinence (SUI) have come under intense scrutiny of late. The NICE (National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence) guidelines for the management of urinary incontinence over the past 15 years have continued to be cautious in their recommendations of the obturator MUS whilst being supportive […]
