Inherited Mutations in Men Undergoing Multigene Panel Testing for Prostate Cancer: Emerging Implications for Personalized Prostate Cancer Genetic Evaluation.

Multigene panels are commercially available for the evaluation of prostate cancer (PCA) predisposition, which necessitates tailored genetic counseling (GC) for men. Here we describe emerging results of Genetic Evaluation of Men, prospective multigene testing study in PCA to inform personalized genetic counseling, with emerging implications for referrals, cancer screening, and precision therapy.

Increased Body Mass Index Is a Risk Factor for Poor Clinical Outcomes after Radical Prostatectomy in Men with International Society of Urological Pathology Grade Group 1 Prostate Cancer Diagnosed with Systematic Biopsies.

The association between obesity and clinically significant prostate cancer (PCa) is still a matter of debate. In this study, we evaluated the effect of body mass index (BMI) on the prediction of pathological unfavorable disease (UD), positive surgical margins (PSMs), and biochemical recurrence (BCR) in patients with clinically localized (≤cT2c) International Society of Urological Pathology […]

To evaluate the degree of discomfort among patients with bladder cancer undergoing office-based cystoscopy and identify factors and interventions that influence discomfort and anxiety. We conducted a survey of the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network Patient Survey Network (BCAN PSN) to investigate the degree of discomfort associated with office-based cystoscopy and prevalence of interventions used to […]

An economic analysis comparing health care resource use and cost of dose-dense methotrexate, vinblastine, doxorubicin, and cisplatin versus gemcitabine and cisplatin as neoadjuvant therapy for muscle invasive bladder cancer.

To compare healthcare resource utilization (HRU) and costs associated with dose-dense methotrexate, vinblastine, doxorubicin, cisplatin (ddMVAC) and gemcitabine, cisplatin (GC) as neoadjuvant chemotherapy for muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC).

Effectiveness and Distribution of Testosterone Levels within First Year of Androgen Deprivation Therapy in a Real-World Setting: Results from the Non-Interventional German Cohort LEAN Study – Beyond the Abstract

There is common agreement that real-world trials are expected to extend existing knowledge on the efficacy and tolerability of a given agent in the target cohort. As results obtained in phase 3 studies can actually only be applied to a highly selected and frequently younger patient cohort with limited comorbidity in these trials, real-world studies […]

Erectile Dysfunction Post Radical Cystectomy. the Role of Early Rehabilitation with Pharmacotherapy in Nerve Sparing and Non-Nerve Sparing Group: A Randomized, Clinical Trial – Beyond the Abstract

No clinical studies testing erectile function (EF) post radical cystectomy (RC) were done. Our study objective was to assess the effect of early pharmacologic therapy after RC using intracorporeal injection (ICI), phosphodiesterase inhibitor (PDE5i), and PDE5i+ICI. In our randomized, double-blinded study, we prospectively enrolled 160 potent male patients with invasive bladder cancer. Patients were operated […]

Functional and Taxonomic Dysbiosis of the Gut, Urine, and Semen Microbiomes in Male Infertility – Beyond the Abstract

From its initial description by Leeuwenhoek1 over three centuries ago to the discovery of its necessity for egg fertilization a hundred years later;2 the spermatozoon is now appreciated as a crucial but incompletely understood component of mammalian reproduction. Serendipitously, the Italian physiologist who first described fertilization with sperm and egg3 – Lazzaro Spallanzani – also performed […]

Postoperative outcomes of ureteroscopy for pediatric urolithiasis: A secondary analysis of the National Surgical Quality Improvement Program Pediatric.

Incidence of pediatric urinary stone disease (PUSD) has increased over recent decades. Innovations in ureteroscopic technology has expanded the role of endourologic stone management in children. However, there is currently no consensus on the optimal use of ureteroscopy (URS) within the heterogenous PUSD population.
