What’s Important for Improving Biopsy Acquisition, Is Lesion Selection a Key? A Specialized, Web-Based Naing Tool for Target Lesion Selection – Beyond the Abstract

Pathological examination of image-guided tumor biopsy has been the gold standard for cancer diagnosis for decades. Nowadays, in this era of precision oncology and personalized medicine, tumor biopsy assessment has greatly expanded its roles in studying disease progression, drug efficacy, and developing biomarkers in clinical studies via performing a wide range of assays such as […]

Study Finds Muscle-Invasive Bladder Cancer Patients Can Receive Chemotherapy, Even With Blocked Kidneys

San Francisco, CA (UroToday.com) — A new study by researchers at Fox Chase Cancer Center found that patients with muscle-invasive bladder cancer can safely receive chemotherapy, even when their tumors are blocking their kidneys. The findings mean that patients with the most serious form of this common cancer can receive potentially life-extending treatment, usually without the […]

Implementation of a Novel Web-Based Lesion Selection Tool to Improve Acquisition of Tumor Biopsy Specimens

Introduction: For maximum utility of molecular characterization by next-generation sequencing (NGS) and better understanding of tumor microenvironment with immune correlates analysis, biopsy specimens must yield adequate tumor tissue, and sequential biopsy specimens should sample a consistent site. We developed a web-based lesion selection tool (LST) that enables management and tracking of the biopsy specimen collections.
