Bladder cancer (BCa) is the most common urinary malignancy. The standard surgical treatment for patients with muscle-invasive BCa is cystectomy plus urinary diversion. Ileal conduit (IC) or orthotopic neobladder (ON), which have different indications, are the most commonly performed urinary diversions.
To assess the prophylactic efficacy of postoperative single intravesical instillation with pirarubicin (THP) and mitomycin C (MMC) for low-risk non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMBC). A total of 103 clinically low-risk NMBC patients were preoperatively randomized into either THP (n=49) or MMC (n=54) groups.
