Bladder cancer is predominantly a disease of older adults. In the United States, 90% of diagnoses are made in patients over 55 y.o. and 80% in those over 65 y.o.1 According to the American Cancer Society Statistics, in 2021 an estimated 83,730 adults (64,280 men and 19,450 women) in the US will develop bladder cancer. The average age for bladder cancer diagnosis in the US is 73, which is older than the average age of cancer diagnosis (65–70 years of age).2
