The adrenal glands play a critical role in physiology and endocrinology, as well as being critical in oncologic staging. However, there is an increasing dilemma of increasing detection of adrenal ‘incidentalomas’ – non-specific adrenal nodules. The normal anatomy of the adrenal glands includes bilateral, pyramid-shaped caps that sit above the kidneys, and comprising an adrenal body and two limbs.
