Urothelial dysfunction may be a key pathomechanism underlying interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS). We therefore examined if clinical severity is associated with the extent of urothelial damage as revealed by electron microscopic (EM) analysis of biopsy tissue.
