Outcomes of organ-sparing surgery for adult testicular tumors: A systematic review of the literature.

To perform a systematic review on the effects of testicular sparing surgery (TSS) on the oncological, functional, and hormonal outcomes of adults with testicular tumors. A literature search was performed after PROSPERO registration (CRD42020200842) and reported in compliance with Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) methods.

Health-related quality of life in men with localized prostate cancer treated with radiotherapy: validation of an abbreviated version of the Expanded Prostate Cancer Index Composite for Clinical Practice in Spain.

Health-related quality of life (HRQoL) is greatly affected by prostate cancer (PCa) and associated treatments. This study aimed to measure the impact of radiotherapy on HRQoL and to further validate the Spanish version of the 16-item Expanded Prostate Cancer Index Composite (EPIC-16) in routine clinical practice.

Ascertainment of Veterans With Metastatic Prostate Cancer in Electronic Health Records: Demonstrating the Case for Natural Language Processing.

Prostate cancer (PCa) is among the leading causes of cancer deaths. While localized PCa has a 5-year survival rate approaching 100%, this rate drops to 31% for metastatic prostate cancer (mPCa). Thus, timely identification of mPCa is a crucial step toward measuring and improving access to innovations that reduce PCa mortality.

Enhanced Recovery after Surgery for Radical Cystectomy Decreases Postoperative Complications at Different Times.

This study aimed to assess whether enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) improves, at different time points, postoperative complications in patients undergoing radical cystectomy. We performed a retrospective monocentric study using prospectively maintained databases including all patients treated by radical cystectomy between January 2015 and July 2019.

ESMO 2021: High- vs Low-Dose Pre-Operative Ipilimumab and Nivolumab in Locoregionally Advanced Urothelial Cancer (NABUCCO Cohort 2)

(UroToday.com)Stage 3 urothelial cancer has a poor prognosis, which can be improved modestly with neoadjuvant cisplatin chemotherapy prior to radical cystectomy. However, options to improve prognosis in patients that are to receive cisplatin are lacking. The NABUCCO trial, cohort 1, involved treating stage 3 urothelial cancer patient with two doses of neoadjuvant ipilimumab (3 mg/kg) […]

ESMO 2021: Avelumab as the Basis of Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy Regimen in Platinum Eligible and Ineligible Patients with Non-Metastatic Muscle Invasive Bladder Cancer (NM-MIBC)

(UroToday.com) Cisplatin-based neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by radical cystectomy is a standard of care for non-metastatic muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC). However, up to half of patients are not eligible for cisplatin-based chemotherapy. Neoadjuvant immune checkpoint inhibitors have shown anti-tumor activity in MIBC in multiple studies, both as monotherapy and in combination with chemotherapy. In this presentation, Dr. […]
