Anatomical feasibility of anastomosing intercostal nerves (D10&D11) and subcostal nerve (D12) to S2 ventral root and lumbar plexus for management of bladder function after spinal cord injury.

The transfer of peripheral nerves originating above the level of injured spinal cord into the nerves/roots below the injury is a promising approach. It facilitates the functional recovery in lower extremity, bladder/bowel and sexual function in paraplegics.
